Opeyemi Oye graduated with a B.Sc. honours degree from the University of Ilorin, where he was multiple award winner. He obtained an MBA degree with distinction from the same University and is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Opeyemi trained with a firm of Chartered Accountants where he specialised in financial consulting. He later joined Unilever International Audit Department, Lagos where he was a unit leader.

Opeyemi joined Africa Finance Group Limited in January 1991 as Head of the Investments Departments. He left in 1996 to help set up Peregrine Investments Limited.

Opeyemi Oye has had lecturing experience in finance at tertiary
institutions.
